He specialises in Family and Child Care. Huw has worked in this area of law since qualification and has over 30 years’ experience. As well as family law Huw deals in other areas including Crime, Wills and Conveyancing. Huw is Head of the Family Department and is appointed to the Law Society’s Accredited Children’s Scheme. He is also appointed as a Family Law Supervisor for the purposes of the firm’s Legal Aid Contract.

Andrew Johnson

Andrew Johnson Residential Property Wills and Probate Commercial Property Agricultural Property Andrew is head of our conveyancing department and the compliance officer for the legal practice. Andrew has twenty years’ experience in general property matters ranging from residential conveyancing to business leases, agricultural land sales and leases. He has been involved in literally thousands of property transactions over the years but also has a wide experience in Wills and Probate. Andrew gives legal advice to a range of clients from private individuals to companies, charities, churches and farmers. By way of background Andrew now been a qualified solicitor for over 18 years and has worked throughout his entire career for Humfrys & Symonds. Above all Andrew is a Herefordian and was educated at Hereford Cathedral Junior School then Belmont Abbey and back to Hereford Cathedral Senior School when Belmont Abbey closed. After his school days he then studied Law at Aberystwyth University followed by Chester Collage of law. Andrew then returned to Hereford to Humfrys & Symonds as a trainee solicitor and moved through the ranks to Director level. Andrew is also a part time farmer and with the help of his wife Juliette run a 400-acre Duchy Farm in Madley. The farm is primarily arable although they do have traditional cider orchards and pedigree Hereford Cattle. The farm gives Andrew an insight into the legal issues and conundrums that farmers and their families come across day to day in their profession. Outside of H&S and the farm Andrew has a young family with two children and is heavily involved in a variety of sports and activities with a special interest in golf, cricket, running, skiing and rugby. Andrew is on the PCC and past treasurer for Madley Parish Church and also attends Oasis Church Hereford. Andrew is a current member (and past chair) of Hereford Round Table as well as a current player and club secretary for Garnons Cricket Club. In addition, Andrew is also a member (and past captain) of Hereford Rugby Club and past president of the Wormside Agricultural Improvement Society which hosts an annual ploughing match periodically held at the farm. As a family the Johnson’s are keen dog lovers and have two springer spaniels, a Labrador a Hungarian Vizsla and a Springador who all take some walking!

She joined Humfrys and Symonds in 2004 and became a Director in 2016. Anna is appointed to the Law Society’s Accredited Family Scheme and Accredited Children’s Scheme. Anna is appointed by the SRA as Humfrys & Symonds Training Principal and appointed as a Family Law Supervisor for the purposes of the firm’s Legal Aid Contract.

Sabrina Khanna Head of Private Client I advise clients on a range of matters, including preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, estate planning, the creation and administration of Trusts, obtaining probate and the administration of estates. I also advise vulnerable clients (or their families) in respect of their financial affairs and planning, mental capacity and care issues, health and welfare matters and applications to the Court of Protection. Court applications that I have dealt with include applications for Deputy orders, statutory Wills, gifting by an attorney or deputy, the removal of an attorney or deputy, appointment of a Trustee, seeking judgement in respect of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and orders for sale in respect of property. I enjoy working with my clients to guide them through the legal process and documentation, explaining legal terminology so that they fully understand what will need to be done during what may be a difficult or emotional time. Away from the office, I love to travel and I am an avid reader of astrology.

Claire specialises in moving house, property transfers, leasehold matters and other general property enquiries. She has also successfully completed various professional development courses in residential property and property matters generally.

Andrea has worked in law firms since leaving school. She came to Humfrys & Symonds in 2014 as a secretary and has progressed to become a Chartered Legal Executive. Andrea specialises in all types of Private Client work, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, Probate and Administration, Trusts and Inheritance Tax Planning. Andrea prides herself on being friendly, professional, compassionate and approachable. She can explain details to her clients in a way in which they understand, making the legal process as easy as possible for them at a time that can be very difficult. Outside of work, Andrea is a keen hiker and runs a hiking group in which she has hosted many walks around Herefordshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire and parts of Wales. Andrea also has an interest in photography.
