Matthew joined Humfrys & Symonds in 2017 and specialises in civil litigation. After graduating with a Law Degree at the University of the West of England, he trained as a barrister and was called to the bar of England and Wales in 2008 before being added to the Roll of Solicitors in 2012.

Benefitting from a wide range of experience across the spectrum of civil litigation, Matthew is able to provide clients with a single point of contact throughout the life of their case and an advocacy service where required. His aim is to provide well-rounded and objective advice to give clients as much understanding as possible about every aspect of their case.

Matthew specialises in contractual disputes, contested estates, landlord and tenant disputes, property damage, boundary and neighbour disputes, cohabitation litigation, personal injury and clinical negligence, debt recovery.

Alongside a busy practice, Matthew has assisted with higher education teaching and he is able to offer training seminars and workshops in his areas of specialism. He was formerly the Chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the Law Society.
