Andrew is head of our conveyancing department and the compliance officer for the legal practice.

He has been involved in literally thousands of property transactions over the years but also has a wide experience in Wills and Probate. Andrew gives legal advice to a range of clients from private individuals to companies, charities, churches and farmers.

By way of background Andrew now been a qualified solicitor for over 18 years and has worked throughout his entire career for Humfrys & Symonds. Above all Andrew is a Herefordian and was educated at Hereford Cathedral Junior School then Belmont Abbey and back to Hereford Cathedral Senior School when Belmont Abbey closed. After his school days he then studied Law at Aberystwyth University followed by Chester Collage of law. Andrew then returned to Hereford to Humfrys & Symonds as a trainee solicitor and moved through the ranks to Director level.

Andrew is also a part time farmer and with the help of his wife Juliette run a 400-acre Duchy Farm in Madley. The farm is primarily arable although they do have traditional cider orchards and pedigree Hereford Cattle. The farm gives Andrew an insight into the legal issues and conundrums that farmers and their families come across day to day in their profession.

Outside of H&S and the farm Andrew has a young family with two children and is heavily involved in a variety of sports and activities with a special interest in golf, cricket, running, skiing and rugby. Andrew is on the PCC and past treasurer for Madley Parish Church and also attends Oasis Church Hereford. Andrew is a current member (and past chair) of Hereford Round Table as well as a current player and club secretary for Garnons Cricket Club.

In addition, Andrew is also a member (and past captain) of Hereford Rugby Club and past president of the Wormside Agricultural Improvement Society which hosts an annual ploughing match periodically held at the farm. As a family the Johnson’s are keen dog lovers and have two springer spaniels, a Labrador a Hungarian Vizsla and a Springador who all take some walking!
